Decentralized

This is the exact opposite of centralized schemes. Here, each actuator has a processor and memory on board, as well as a stand-alone source of power supply. This gives the main advantage of a decentralized smart-home – its high reliability. Even if one or even several devices are switched off, the remaining ones will continue their work.

                                                                                                Advantages and disadvantages

In addition to its high reliability, decentralized systems for automation of home processes have the following benefits:
Scalability. If necessary, it is possible to connect an additional logic unit to the system. Such a device is intended for processing and executing individual specific scenarios.
Wide range. There is a large selection of control panels on sale. They differ not only in functionality, but in design, which can fit perfectly into any room interior.
Perhaps the only serious shortcoming of a decentralized system is the complexity of its setup. It is required for each individual device. The need for regular replacement of batteries – both non-rechargeable and researchable ones – in each stand-alone device may also be added to their shortcomings.
